Liebe Künstler*innen Berlins:

SEID DABEI!

Was kann jede*r ganz konkret tun?

Dear artists of Berlin:
GET INVOLVED!

The “Alte Münze” (Old Mint) is developed as a new innovative cultural location. 15,000 square meters in the centre of Berlin – a great opportunity for Berlin and the Independent Scene. We, the coalition of the Independent Scene together with many supporters, have been working towards this for years. Now we wish for a transparent process with active participation – with you!
On 12 February at 6 p.m., the participative process passed at the Abgeordnetenhaus Berlin (Berlin House of Representatives) last year will start. (Venue: “Alte Münze” Molkenmarkt 2, 10179 Berlin). Artists will be able to actively participate in the process. The Senate Department for Culture and Europe and the BIM have proposed a process, which will be presented on this date.
Take part in the important decisions on how the area is to be conceived and how this is to be negotiated. Help make sure that, in the end, it will actually become an innovative place for artists from the Berlin Independent Scene!
Background: The sale of the area to an investor has been prevented three times yet. By now, it is certain that the site will remain in public hands. Last year, the Berlin House of Representatives decided that it would be developed into a cultural location and that this development is agreed on in a participatory process, which is now to begin.

What can each one do in concrete terms?
1. Be there on 12 February at 6 p.m. to show that you as artists, creators of culture, supporters of the Independent Scene urgently need space and that you would like to co-design it.
2. A workshop procedure with the participation of artists and other players has been announced. The participants are to be “drawn by lots”. Should this path be taken: It is essential that you register to make sure the voice of the arts and of the Independent Scene will be heard in the process.

Post, tweet, mail this post to all mailing lists!
100% culture in the “Alte Münze”! 100% Independent Scene!

Yours
